The cowhides in this category are LARGE and XL premium grade Argentine & Columbian cowhides that will range from 6' x 7' to 7 x 8' in size.
Even though Argentine & Columbian cowhides can look the same as the more expensive, better quality Brazilian cowhides, they generally are not as thick or as supple. In addition, Argentine & Columbian hides often will have more of the natural marks and scrapes present in all cowhides.
They are ideal for those who want the "look and feel" of a cowhide but just don't want to pay more for premium Brazilian cowhides.
Concerning sizes...since Columbian hides do not taper from top to bottom as do Argentine and Brazilian cowhides, they are much wider at the bottom. As a result, a Columbian hide with the same width and length dimensions will have a much larger square foot area than either an Argentine or Brazilian cowhide.
As an example, based on square footage, a 6x7 ft Columbian could easily be classified as an XL cowhide whereas a 6x7 ft. Argentine or Brazilian hide would only be classified as a large cowhide.
