Cowhides-Premium Brazilian Hides:
Brown & Whites

The premium grade Brazilian cowhides in these pictures are for people who want the finest quality cowhides in the world and are willing to spend the extra money. These pictures represent the most common styles and will be used for a guide only when picking your cowhide. Since no two hides are the same, please expect some differences between these pictures and the hides we actually send.

All of these "natural colored" cowhides come from either Brazil or Argentina, the countries that unquestionably produce the finest quality cowhides in the world. The leather of each one of our cowhides is very supple and soft, unlike so many other cowhides on the market today that can actually be quite stiff. In addition, our manufacturers do not use any of the harsh tanning solutions that can produce the unpleasant smell that many other cowhide products commonly have. Please do not let our low prices fool you. Our hides are at least as nice, and probably nicer than the hides at your better retail stores selling for $325-$500. We are volume buyers, buying 100's of hides each month and import directly from the best tanneries in South America.

When selecting your cowhide, please select from each of the "drop down" boxes...namely, the "size and price option", the "quality option" and the "hair length option". A quick note about the "quality" choices...Most of our hides are "premium" quality and are at least as nice as what you will find in your best retail stores. Occasionally, "show quality" hides are available. "Show quality" hides are very rare and represent the nicest 5% of all cowhides in the world...less noticeable markings, fewer "natural encounters" with trees or barbwire and less damage in processing. Rarely will you find this quality in stores or on the Internet...they are simply too rare. We are the largest retail dealer in the country of these "show quality" hides and even we are often out of them.

Palomino is a light or "blond" colored brown. Although not rare, palomino cowhides are much less common than regular brown and white cowhides. When available, they come in either 50% or 70% palomino. The hide pictured is a 70%.

Although this picture indicates that the whole hide is "palomino" color, most actually will have a little bit of white on the sides. When you see one with hardly any white or no white at all, the "white" has probably been trimed off.

"Exotic brown and white" is our name for uncommon, spotty brown and white cowhides. We used to offer them here as a category rugs where we would simply choose one on our own. However, since no two will ever look the same, we now photograph them and allow our customers to choose the one they like. Most will measure from 6 x 7 ft to 7 x 8 ft. These are cowhides in a category that we call "spotted reddish brown longhorn". Although not very common, we generally have at least 3 or 4 on hand at any given time. We usually photograph them seperately and then put them in our "Exotic Brazilian" category where they will cost $349-$479, depending on how unusual the coloring and pattern are. They will be considerably less expensive here if we can simply pick you one from our extensive inventory, saving us time and money from trimming, photographing and editing each one individually and then putting them on line.

You can get a "feel" of what your hide will look like by clicking on this picture as we have blowups of 3 hides that were sold in the past from this category. Keep in mind that no two cowhides will look the same, however your hide will look similar to one of these three.

As previously mentioned, if you want to see the exact hide you would be getting and don't mind spending a bit more money, please look at the category named either "Premium Exotic Brazilian Cowhides" or "The Rarest and Most Unusual of All Brazilian Cowhides".

Even though this color can and often does look black in low light situations, it is actually a beautiful rich, very dark chocolate brown.
